Tonguç Yaşar-Karikatürist/Cartoonist As it was declared at June, Association for Solidarity with Palestinian People (Turkey) and "Homur" Humor and Cartoons Group are organizing together a cartoon contest on Palestine, to commemorate Naji al Ali - the famous Palestinian cartoonist assasinated in 1987.
At that time, we had said that the selective committee (jury) of the contest would be declared later. We would like to inform you that the list of the jury members is declared to public a few days ago. The selective committee contains 3 international members, next to 6 members from Turkey. The international members are: - Mrs. Leila Khaled, one of the symbols of the Palestinian National Resistance; member of the PFLP's Political Bureau, and Palestinian National Council - Mr. Nedal Hashem, the Palestinian/Jordanian cartoonist, and web director of arabcartoon website - Mr. Carlos Latuff, the famous anti-zionist cartoonist from Brazil The Turkish members of the selective committee are: Mr. Atay Sözer, Mr. Canol Kocagöz and Mr. Mustafa Yıldız (cartoonists from "Homur" Humor Group); Mrs. Füsun Bandır (President of Association for Solidarity with Palestinian People); Mr. Metin Peker (representant of Association of Cartoonists); and finally Mr. Tonguç Yaşar (cartoonist) We have already recieved cartoons from more than 10 different countries. It is possible to send cartoons to hanzalakarikatur@gmail.com until 22th of November. The jury will gather on 27th of November and the results will be declared the following day.
